The Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) is a non-profit, non-government trade association dedicated to supporting the growth and development of Australia’s independent recorded music sector. Established in 1996, AIR represents Australian-owned record labels and independent artists based in Australia.

About the role

Reporting to the CEO, the Membership Engagement Officer forms an integral part of the team and is the first point of contact for all members and prospective members.

The role requires the provision of a high level of customer service to proactively engage with the independent label community and drive membership growth, attend to membership onboarding and database management, and assist with the coordination of professional development and member networking events.

We are looking for candidates who are available to work 1 day per week from our North Melbourne Office with some flexibility offered.

Salary: 65-70K pro-rata per annum, plus super

Desired Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Over 3 years’ experience working in an independent label with a solid understanding of the Australian Music industry including the peak bodies.
• Results oriented with excellent time management skills.
• Accurate data entry skills and strong attention to detail.
• Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficient in application of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, MailChimp, survey monkey and database management.
• Demonstrated experience using social media to increase audience engagement.
• The ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
• Self-motivated with a solution focused mind-set
• Willing and able to travel interstate for member in person events as required
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
